This Apple Cider Old Fashioned is a warm, cozy twist on a classic — perfect for fall evenings, holiday gatherings, or just sipping on a chilly night. Made with apple cider, brewed tea, and whole spices, it’s rich, aromatic, and completely alcohol-free!


Ingredients

2 cups apple cider

1/2 orange, sliced

1 cup strong brewed black tea, cooled

1 cinnamon stick

1 whole star anise

3 whole cloves

1 tablespoon maple syrup (optional)


Instructions

1. In a small saucepan, combine the apple cider, orange slices, black tea, cinnamon stick, star anise, and cloves.

2. Simmer over medium-low heat for 10–15 minutes, allowing the flavors to blend. Do not boil.

3. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.

4. Stir in maple syrup if you prefer a sweeter flavor.

5. Strain the mixture into mugs or heatproof glasses.

6. Garnish with a cinnamon stick or a fresh orange slice. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

You can make a large batch for a party and keep it warm in a slow cooker on the “keep warm” setting.

Add a splash of sparkling water just before serving for a fizzy version.

For an adult version, you can add a shot of bourbon or spiced rum — totally optional.
