  • Author: Nova
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 12 deviled egg halves

Description

These Creepy Deviled Eggs are the perfect spooky treat for your Halloween table! With classic deviled egg flavor and a frightfully fun spider topping made from olives, they’re a hit with kids and adults alike.

Ingredients

▢ 6 hard-boiled eggs

▢ 3 tbsp mayonnaise

▢ 1 tsp yellow mustard

▢ 1/4 tsp smoked paprika

▢ Salt and pepper, to taste

▢ 8 black olives, halved and sliced into spider shapes

▢ Dash of hot sauce (optional)

▢ Fresh chives, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

1. Slice the hard-boiled eggs in half lengthwise and gently remove the yolks.

2. Mash the yolks in a bowl with a fork until smooth.

3. Add mayonnaise, mustard, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper to the yolks. Mix well until creamy.

4. If using, add a dash of hot sauce for a spicy kick.

5. Spoon or pipe the filling into the egg white halves.

6. Use olive halves for spider bodies and thin olive strips for the legs. Decorate each deviled egg.

7. Garnish with fresh chives and serve immediately.

Notes

To make them ahead, keep the filling and whites separate until just before serving.

For extra flair, tint the egg whites with natural food coloring (like beet juice or purple cabbage water).
