Ingredients
2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 cup barbecue sauce (use your favorite!)
1/2 cup chicken broth
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste
Instructions
1. Spray the inside of your crockpot with non-stick spray or use a liner for easy clean-up.
2. Place the chicken breasts into the bottom of the crockpot.
3. In a small bowl, whisk together the barbecue sauce, chicken broth, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
4. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken, ensuring everything is well-coated.
5. Cover and cook on LOW for 6–8 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours.
6. Once cooked, remove the chicken and shred it with two forks.
7. Return the shredded chicken to the crockpot and stir to coat in the sauce.
8. Serve warm on sandwich buns, over rice, in tacos, or however your BBQ-loving heart desires!
Notes
You can use boneless chicken thighs instead of breasts for extra richness.
Make it spicy by adding a dash of hot sauce or a pinch of cayenne pepper.
Leftovers store well in the fridge for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
