Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1–2 teaspoons Sriracha (to taste)
2 cups cooked white rice (or brown rice)
2 green onions, thinly sliced (for garnish)
1 teaspoon sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef for about 5–7 minutes, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain off any excess fat.
2. Add the chopped onion and sauté for 2–3 minutes until soft.
3. Stir in the garlic and ginger, and cook for about 30 seconds, until fragrant.
4. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and Sriracha.
5. Pour the sauce into the skillet with the beef and simmer for 3–5 minutes until thickened and the beef is coated.
6. Serve the beef mixture over cooked rice. Top with green onions and sesame seeds.
