  • Author: Jolene Thibodeaux
  • Total Time: 50 minutes
  • Yield: 16 brownies 1x

Description

These Spooky Mummy Brownies are the cutest Halloween treat! Fudgy brownies are topped with vanilla frosting “bandages” and candy eyes for a fun and festive dessert that’s as delicious as it is adorable.

Ingredients

Scale

1 family-size (18–19 oz) box brownie mix

Ingredients listed on brownie mix (oil, water, eggs)

1 cup vanilla frosting

1/2 cup candy eyes

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to temperature specified on brownie mix box. Grease or line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.

2. Prepare brownie batter according to package directions. Spread evenly in prepared pan.

3. Bake as directed on box, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Cool completely in pan on a wire rack.

4. Cut cooled brownies into rectangular bars.

5. Transfer vanilla frosting to a zip-top bag and snip a small corner to create a piping tip.

6. Pipe squiggly frosting lines across brownies to resemble mummy bandages, leaving space near the top.

7. Place two candy eyes on each brownie in the uncovered space. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

Make ahead: bake brownies a day early and decorate just before serving. For extra flavor, add a teaspoon of vanilla or espresso powder to your brownie batter.
