Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries sliced
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/3 cup butter melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • powdered sugar for dusting
  • vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for serving (optional)

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease an 8-inch baking dish or oven-safe skillet.
  2. Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Stir in milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until a smooth batter forms.
  4. Pour batter into prepared dish and scatter sliced strawberries evenly over the top without stirring.
  5. Bake for 35–40 minutes until the top is golden and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Let cool for 10 minutes, then dust with powdered sugar.
  7. Serve warm scooped into bowls with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream if desired.
