Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 tsp baking powder
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tbsp orange zest
  • 0.25 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.25 cup milk
  • 1 cup powdered sugar for glaze
  • 2-3 tbsp orange juice for glaze
  • 1 tsp orange zest for glaze

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a loaf pan.
  2. Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Beat butter and sugar in another bowl until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Mix in orange zest, orange juice, and vanilla extract.
  6. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk, mixing just until combined.
  7. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 50–60 minutes until set.
  8. Cool slightly, then drizzle with orange glaze.

Notes

Store the cake in the refrigerator for up to 3–4 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Serve with fresh fruit or a cup of coffee for a simple, comforting treat.
