Ingredients
  

  • 2 cans (15 oz each) sliced peaches in juice do not drain
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 box yellow or vanilla cake mix used dry
  • 1/2 cup butter thinly sliced
  • vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for serving

Method
 

  1. Pour sliced peaches with all their juice into a greased 9x13 baking dish.
  2. Sprinkle cinnamon and nutmeg evenly over the peaches.
  3. Pour the dry cake mix evenly over the top without stirring.
  4. Lay thin slices of butter evenly across the surface to cover as much as possible.
  5. Bake at 350°F for 45–50 minutes until golden and bubbling at the edges.

Notes

Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3–4 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for the best texture and flavor.
