Strawberry Sorbet

Sweet, bright, and packed with fresh strawberry flavor, this Strawberry Sorbet tastes like summertime scooped straight into a bowl. With just a handful of ingredients and a simple method, it’s the kind of homemade treat anybody can pull off with confidence.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 quarts strawberries washed
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt to taste

Method
 

  1. Remove tops from strawberries and purée in a blender or food processor until smooth.
  2. Blend sugar into the strawberry purée for 30 seconds.
  3. Add lemon juice and kosher salt, then blend to incorporate and adjust to taste.
  4. Strain the purée and transfer to the refrigerator.
  5. Chill the strawberry purée for 2 to 3 hours until very cold.
  6. Churn the chilled mixture in an ice cream maker according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  7. Transfer the sorbet to the freezer and freeze for 2 to 3 hours before serving.

Notes

Store the finished sorbet in a tightly covered freezer-safe container for up to 3 months. Serve scoops alongside fresh fruit, butter cookies, or light pound cake for an easy summer dessert.
